Laid Back Disney Trip Report, Day Two

Laid Back Disney Trip Report, Day Two

We love a laid back Disney trip! This whole week is a significant change of pace from our usual intense, all day theme park styles.  Today was a lazy day in which we stopped and smelled the flowers.

Back to the Pool

We spent some time at the Saratoga Springs Paddock pool.  As you can see, our children excitedly ran back to the Paddock children’s aquatic play area. See yesterday’s post for more Saratoga Springs water slide adventures! Disney World pools are amazing. This pool is on our list of the top ten best Disney World pools, and it’s incredible.

Groceries, Galore!

While we tussled in the pool, my husband picked up groceries from the Target in Kissimmee.  Being that this is a low-key and budget trip, we did not want to blow our bank account on Disney food. Our son has autism and eating in our room is a Godsend. We love Disney Vacation Club because it affords us the ability to eat meals in our room with a full kitchen while staying on property so we can travel between places quickly.

Curious about what we got?  I’d love to share our <$100 grocery list!  We always stock up on Amazon Prime before we go.

Chickenhawk vs. Windshield

Unfortunately, on our drive down from Ohio, we met misfortune. We were driving in Georgia when suddenly a giant bird ricocheted off the windshield and shattered the entire ride side.

We spent the evening and next day attempting to contact a mobile windshield replacement service.  Unfortunately, these companies had no availability for weeks.

Once I wrangled the kids to clean up after the pool and settle down for dinner, the glass company called and said it was time to fix our windshield.

Walt Disney World does not allow any mobile auto glass company on the property.  My husband left to meet them at a gas station.  They graciously agreed to meet him there.  The company is AMAC.  They were amazing, reliable, and reasonably priced.  If you should have a minor catastrophe like we did, please consider giving them a call.  This is not a commission based plug, we just were really impressed by them.

Mickey Mouse Evening Adventure

We spent our evening watching Mickey Mouse and eating snacks in the fold-out bed.  Our children adore watching Duffy Bear story time immediately prior to falling asleep.

To wrap up the evening, my husband brought us Mickey Bars!
