Planning a trip to Walt Disney World while on a gluten-free special diet?
For families with food allergies, dining out at restaurants can feel stressful, not knowing if we will be taken seriously by restaurant staff. For many families, this can mean the difference between an allergic reaction and a fun night out. But here’s the magic: Disney takes dietary restrictions seriously.

How Disney Dining Handles Food Allergies
The spectacular news is that Walt Disney World takes dietary restrictions more seriously than your fairy Godmother. They have dedicated allergy prep areas including cooktops, fryers, and always change their gloves for the special order. Their chefs and menus will tell you precisely what menu items are safe, and they will even send out a separate food runner to bring it to you.
If you have Celiac or manage multiple allergies, ask to speak with a chef, and they’ll walk you through what’s safe and how they’re avoiding cross-contact. Cross-contact isn’t nonexistent, nothing in food service ever is! But Disney’s transparency and willingness to adjust meals on the fly makes it one of the safest large-scale places to eat in the U.S.
Purple allergy menus and biners are now the norm across the parks and resorts. These list options that are already prepared without the top allergens (including gluten), which cuts down on guesswork and makes ordering faster.
My Personal Gluten-free Dining Experience
I am presumed Celiac and gluten-free. We noted our allergies on each reservation as we booked them online or over the phone. They flagged our dietary request upon check-in at the host desk. Overall, the food was absolutely delicious and I didn’t feel like I was missing out on a single thing.
- Table Service: Once seated, the host hands a small piece of paper to the server that describes the allergy. The server usually avoids taking our order until the chef comes out to greet us personally. Do not go to the restaurant starving because this has happened consistently at every table service restaurant.
- Quick Service: Typically, the cast member brings out the special purple allergy menu. A manager comes out to take the special order. After we paid, they gave us a buzzer, and we came directly to the grill to pick up our allergy-safe meal marked with a flag and kept separate from the rest of the food. There are often allergy-safe desserts like bagged cookies or brownie’s if the restaurant’s desserts are not.
- Toddler Accommodation: Disney accommodated dietary needs regardless of age. When our son was two years old and free of charge at the buffet, the restaurants provided gluten-free, toddler-friendly foods for him.
How to Book Walt Disney World Dining with Special Diets
Book on the Walt Disney World Resort Dining website.
- Select your restaurant, party size, and time.
- Click on the reservation time.
- Put the names of the guests attending the reservation on the first screen. Click next.
- Put in your credit card information.
- On the third screen, it will want a phone number. Below that, there is a screen called Special requests. Click “Add.”
- An additional screen will pop up, prompting you to insert the Special Dietary Information or Accessibility requirements.
- There is a section at the bottom of the page where you can note special dietary restrictions.
If you have questions, be sure to email specialdiets@disneyworld.com for further information.
Consequently, if you have made your reservations but did not tell the Cast Members at the time of booking, fear not! You can always tell them at the check-in counter, but if you have an unusual dietary request, the advance notice allows Disney World to give you the best possible service.

Animal Kingdom GF Dining Guide
This park shines for GF quick service, with both sit down and quick service locations offering safe, customizable meals. Table service is excellent at select spots, and snack and fruit carts provide convenient allergy-friendly options throughout the park.
Gluten-Free Animal Kingdom Table Service Restaurants

Nomad Lounge
When perusing the gluten-free menu at Nomad Lounge, I was pleasantly surprised to see options for appetizers. The cocktails are world-class, and the lounge is built for travelers to tell their tales around comfortable couches and tables. My three-year-old even declared, “This chair is SO soft!”

Connection to Tiffins Restaurant
The Nomad Lounge is connected to Tiffins Restaurant, located along the pathway to Pandora: World of Avatar.
Children’s Fare: The children’s allergy menu is the same at both Tiffins and Nomad Lounge!
Adult Fare: You cannot order Tiffins adult plates in the lounge, nor can you enjoy the Small Plates menu from Nomad Lounge while seated at Tiffins.
Small Plate Menu
The Small Plates allergy menu at Nomad Lounge is impressive. The allergy-friendly menu features a selection of choices that are safe for a range of needs, including gluten, peanut, tree nut, shellfish, soy, and milk allergies. If you’re gluten-free like us, your options range from rice bowls to pork ribs to churros.
Note: If you want to check the most recent menu update, always see the formal Walt Disney World website.
Smoked Pork Ribs with Sweet Soy-Glaze and Apple-Jicama Slaw
The only disappointment of our meal at Nomad Lounge was that the gluten-free, smoked pork ribs came slightly burnt. The meat fell off the bone and was not fatty at all. The soy glaze had a good flavor without being messy on the fingers. The jicama slaw did not have a ton of flavor, but the slaw and scallions were an attractive garnish on the plate.

The gluten-free children’s menu
There are unique items on the kids meal like veggies (wild colorful carrots) and homemade ranch dipping sauce and beef tacos with queso fresca. Our daughter ate happily, but our child with sensory issues struggled to find something gluten-free he would enjoy.
Sensory Paradox: The food was a little extravagant for children with sensory needs. The only meals that were not gluten-free were the shredded beef tacos with queso fresco and the Bunny Chow. Essentially, the only sides our GF child could not have were the macaroni and cheese and the strawberry shortcake. Our autistic son, ironically, only wanted the mac and cheese!
Kids Veggies and Dipping Sauce ($5)
Our daughter, an adventurous eater, struggled a bit with the purple and yellow carrots, but loved the yellow and orange tomatoes. The dipping sauce was a little too sweet for any of us.

Is the atmosphere at the Nomad Lounge sensory-friendly?
Beyond the availability of gluten-free food, the restaurant atmosphere was ideal for our sensory needs. The decoration and story behind the lounge is extravagant in a way that only Disney can provide. Our son was enraptured with the tales of travelers who had come before him.

Each table features a lamp, perfectly themed for going out and exploring. It is easy to picture the Disney Imagineers going out and exploring Asia and African when creating Animal Kingdom park.

The lounge itself is open and airy, with gorgeous linen curtains that invite you to look outside. The outside has seating on the spacious balcony where you gaze into lush greenery.

In the center of the Nomad Lounge hang banners that state answers from Disney Imagineers who were in the process of building Animal Kingdom. The wall of the lounge has questions inscribed on the white portion that wraps around.
These questions are designed to inspire conversation with your family, such as “What was your best animal encounter?” or “What was the most memorable food?”

Hanging above the bar are small flags, given by patrons like you. These mini-banners cost only a dollar and contain your travel memories to inspire future travelers. Nearly 90% of the purchase price goes towars the Disney Conservation Fund.
“Consider the questions around you. If you’d like to leave your story behind, and support the work we do to help animals around the world, you can purchase a mini-banner and write your own story. We can then hang it over the bar to inspire others.”
Are there gluten-free cocktails?
If you are exasperated and looking for a quiet place to sip a cool drink, you are in luck! The Nomad Lounge’s list of libations is interwoven with an adventurer’s scrapbook of photos, drawings, and notes, giving the menus an exceptional story about travel and adventure. If you haven’t thought about the old Adventurer’s Club in a while, this may give you those vibes!
“Welcome Travelers, to the Nomad Lounge, a place to share stories about travel and adventure… The concept of being transformed by adventure is a key idea behind the design of this park.”

Boto-Rita
Next up is the margarita-like Boto Rita. The smoky and sweet Boto-Rita is made with Zignum Reposado Mezcal, Combier Grapefruit Liqueur, Guava puree, and lime juice.
Hightower Rocks
While other cocktails feature watermelon, this is a gluten-free cocktail alternative to the gorgeous (Ketel One, gluten-filled) Jenn’s Tatoo.
The Hightower Rocks is made with Caso Dragones Blanco Tequila, Watermelon, Sweet and Sour, and lime juice. Suprisingly, the drink was more along the lines of a watermelon cocktail than a margarita. The drink is incredibly refreshing and the slice of watermelon on the side is a lovely touch.
Sinaloa Sangria
The Sinaloa Sangria is a South American Sangria made with Susana Balbo ‘Crios’ Rosé, Barsol Quebranta Pisco, and fresh fruit. It was made right in the Nomad Lounge. This sangria was one of the most fresh and flavorful that I’ve had!

If you eat at Tiffin’s, you will access the same cocktail menu as the Nomad Lounge.
For those occasional chilly days or cold nights at Disney, the Mustang Coffee (left) adds a cozy touch. If you crave fancy piping hot coffee, the Mustang Coffee contains brown sugar, butter, and Crown Royal that is creamy and soothing. The piping hot beverage is best suited for cold nights.

Tiffins Restaurant
Tiffin is an Indian English word that means “meal enjoyed midday.” In Disney speak, it means a signature dining jewel among the other culinary offerings at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Luckily, Tiffins is captivating, gratifying, and incredibly accommodating to gluten-free diners, as well.

Tiffins exterior welcomes you with rustic, sculpted front doors that feature gorgeous carvings of animals and trees. You could gaze at the magnificent entryway for hours and discover more creatures.
The details continue beyond the entryway. Most of us fell in love with Walt Disney World because of the little things sprinkled throughout the parks. For example, I fell in love with restrooms labeled Princes and Princesses, in the Magic Kingdom.
Tiffin’s Theme
Tiffins celebrates international travel specific to Africa, Asia, and South America. The restaurant is divided into three distinct dining rooms—the Safari Gallery, the Trek Gallery, and the Grand Gallery—resembling art galleries. These galleries house interesting items like stories, sketches, and photographs from the journals of the Disney Imagineers.
We sat in the fabulous Trek Gallery and had an up-close view of the Tibetan prayer flags hanging over a corner booth.

Sensory Conditions
The pavement has a slew of animal paw prints out front. The children loved to admire the tracks, which is worthwhile if you have a long wait and your child tolerates stepping away from the area and moving back.
Speaking of animal hoofs and claws- which ones do you see?

The restaurant has dim lighting, which we found to be less stimulating. With headphones and an iPad as back-up, this restaurant was an amazing experience for us.
Tiffins Cocktail Menu
Tiffins features an extensive list of craft cocktails, wine, and beer that are also present at the Nomad Lounge.
See the Nomad Lounge review above for those recommendations.
Tiffins Gluten-Free Menu
The leather-bound book that presented the gluten-free menu was the perfect decorative touch. You flip through the book, as opposed to a single piece of paper like many other restaurants. My children really enjoyed this unique presentation.
Selection of Artisanal Cheeses Appetizer
We ordered the four kinds of cheese on the board, and cardamom Marcona almonds, Manjar Blanco, and Cape Gooseberry on the side.
Instead of bread, the cheeseboard featured a gluten-free substitute known as papadum, a thin, crisp cracker made with gluten-free flour. It tastes fabulous with the delicious cheese ranging from soft and sweet to hard and pungent.
Also, if you opt for the bread service at Tiffins, you can request papadum as the substitute. We now have a love affair with papadum and love to make papadum at home!
Sensory Note: Our son doesn’t like the crispy texture of the papadum when he is expecting bread. If your child has sensory preferences, it’s essential to establish clear expectations.

Gluten-free Black-eyed Pea Fritters
The fritters came with flavorful zhough, yogurt, and peppadew purée. Zhough is a chili paste with the consistency of a pesto sauce, while the peppadew purée is a sweet pepper sauce. Fortunately, the intense flavors of the sauce paired well with the cooling yogurt to create a delightful combination.
Sensory Note: The outside of the black-eyed pea patty was crisp, but the inside was overly dry and chewy. None of the kids were fans of these fritters due to the texture, even when we called them black-eyed pea pancakes.

Pomegranate-lacquered Chicken
We split the Pomegranate-lacquered Chicken with sweet potato pap, Thumbelina carrots, citrus-fennel salad. We were pleasantly surprised that the kitchen plated each half eparately. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the sweet potato pap provided a rich and savory base that married nicely with the sweet undertones of the pomegranate

Gluten-Free Kiosks at Animal Kingdom
GF Pongu Pongu Options
The current official Pongu Pongu menu is available here.

Pongu Pongu means “Party, Party” to the Na’vi. As with most places in Disney World, the backstory is that an expatriate created the bar. The visitor to Alpha Centauri fell in love with the alluring planet of Pandora and created these Avatar-inspired drinks at Disney.
I love Disney because they turn a small snack stand into a glorified snack shop with a straw-thatched roof, next to the popular shop Windtraders. Pongu Pongu features draft beers, non-alcoholic and alcoholic frozen beverages, and specialty snacks.
Pongu Pongu in Animal Kingdom has breakfast starting when the park opens, but there are no gluten-free snack selections for any meal, except for the slushies that are available year round.
Pongu Pongu’s frozen beverage menu features colorful photographs, which makes choosing a delicacy was difficult. We found the drinks delicious and refreshing but challenging to sip through a wide paper straw (unless you drank it quickly).
We sampled the Mo’ara Margarita, a strawberry and blood orange margarita made with Sauza Commemorativo Anejo Tequila, topped with strawberry Boba balls and a glowing undelta seed (glow cube) for an extra charge.
Every one heralded rave reviews about the non-alcoholic specialty beverage called Night Blossom, a gorgeous boba mocktail that is layered with green and purple. Itcan be made alcoholic by adding a shot of rum, where it becomes the Rum Blossom. Personally, it’s one of the best alcoholic drinks in Disney’s Animal Kingdom if you like sweet drinks.
We enjoyed our refreshment break tremendously but look forward to trying other delicacies in Pandora. Which Pongu Pongu treat are you swooning over?
Finally, check out our other features about Pandora.
Terra Treats: The Former Animal Kingdom Allergy Kiosk

The history of the constantly evolving Disney theme parks is fascinating. This colorful and seasonal kiosk is located on the Discovery Island Trail. It once featured mesmerizing, unique, and clearly allergy-friendly items like breakfast pastries, gluten-free draft beer, and even cricket flour crackers.
The focus has shifted away from GF specialty snacks like gluten-free draft beer and cricket crackers to simple items like hot dogs and limeades. It is often closed and only opens during crowded times of the year. If it is open during your visit, be sure to check with a Cast Member for the current GF options.
Why It Disappeared: The need for a dedicated allergy stand lessened because Walt Disney World made allergy menus and chef consultations more accessible at every quick and table service restaurant. The kiosk was renamed Terra Treats in December of 2015.
Magic Kingdom GF Dining Guide
Expect a mix of gluten-free hits and misses. Quick-service spots are usually solid, but bakeries and snacks can be tricky due to cross-contact. Table service is safer, but always ask to speak with a chef. Classic must-eats like Dole Whip, popcorn, and certain burgers are reliable GF options.
Magic Kingdom: Kiosks & Snacks
Aloha Isle
This is a key location for the famous Dole Whip. For our full review and list of all four park locations where you can grab this delicious, naturally gluten-free treat, please see our Ultimate List of Gluten-Free Snacks section at the end of the guide.
EPCOT GF Dining Guide
EPCOT is a paradise for gluten-free dining—if you know where to look. World Showcase has hidden gems in nearly every pavilion, though bakeries and festival booths can be hit or miss. Quick service and table service both offer great GF options, and many spots are chef-friendly. Festivals require a bit more navigation but can be rewarding.
Nine Dragons
This is a great reastaurant to snag a last-minute sit-down meal. The restaurant fesatures an ornate exterior and a dining room with gorgeous windows facing out to the World Showcase. There are three separate areas divided by wooden screens with rooms that are bright and light.
Sensory Conditions at Nine Dragons
We are a large family of six and were surrounded by quiet, well-dressed couples. The formal ambiance was disproportionate to the cost. It is a bit much with meltdown-prone children, so I was on high alert at all times.

Gluten-free Menu at Nine Dragons
While there were no soup or appetizers that were gluten-free, the menu features several main courses that can be prepared GF.
| Garden Salad | Mixed greens, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and a lemon vinaigrette salad dressing. |
| Happy Family | Chicken breast, beef, shrimp, and vegetables. Comes with rice. |
| Canton Pepper Beef | Slices of beef, scallions, and sauce. Served with rice. |
| Moo Goo Gai Pan | Stir-fried chicken, snow peas, carrots, and mushrooms. |
| Kung Pao Chicken | Peanuts, dried chilis. You can choose level of heat. Served with rice. |
| Kung Pao Shrimp | Peanuts, dried chilis. You can choose level of heat. Served with rice. |
| Chicken and Broccoli | Chicken, broccoli, and rice. |
| Beef and Broccoli | Beef, Broccoli, and rice. |
| Vegetable and Tofu Stirfy | A combination of vegetables and tofu served with white rice. |
| Kids Honey Children | Chicken nuggets with honey sauce on the side. Served with rice, broccoli pieces (2), and baby carrots (2). |
Garden salad with lemon vinaigrette dressing
While we had a hankering for hot and sour soup, we were disappointed to learn that it already came with gluten-filled soy sauce. In fact, there was no soup or appetizers that were gluten-free. Our only option was a garden salad.
The greens were fresh and crisp, the tomato perfectly ripe, and the cucumber delicious. However, I expected a bit more. The lemon vinaigrette was so sour that my mouth instantly puckered. Go lightly on this one before you gauge how you like it!

Kung Pao Chicken
My husband got the Kung Pao Chicken and white rice and was ecstatic to put soy sauce on his food. Make sure to ask for gluten-free soy sauce! Even though he asked for 1 pepper out of 2 pepper rating for spiciness, the food was very spicy. The flavor was relatively mild and overpowered by its heat, but the green scallions were a colorful touch.

The children’s gluten-free menu at Nine Dragons
Our daughter is not gluten-free, so she stuck with the regular Kids Honey Chicken. It was delicious and she happily munched the accompanying veggies. However, it’s our understanding they could have created a gluten-free version.

The only available options are the following:
- Garden salad with dressing
- Happy Family
- Canton Pepper Beef
- Moo Goo Gai Pan
- Kung Pao Chicken
- Kung Pao Shrimp
- Chicken and broccoli
- Beef and Broccoli
- Vegetable and Tofu Stir Fry
- Kid’s Honey Chicken
Can you eat gluten-free at Nine Dragons? Yes, but I don’t know that I will again.
With so much delicious gluten-free food available at Epcot, Nine Dragons did not wow us, but it wasn’t horrible. It is a middle-of-the-road option for cost and taste.
Hollywood Studios GF Dining Guide
The menus here are smaller, so planning is key. Quick service offers dependable GF options like customizable bowls and certain burgers. Table service is safe if you request a chef consultation. Snacks are limited, so keep portable backups on hand.
Disney Springs GF Dining Guide
Disney Springs is a bit of a GF haven outside the parks. Many restaurants are allergy-conscious, and specialty bakeries offer 100% GF treats. It’s a great spot for a GF meal away from the crowds.
Gluten-Free Resort Dining Guide
Dining at resorts is consistently safe and chef-driven. Monorail and Skyliner resorts offer standout GF options. Value and moderate resorts can vary, but you can usually find reliable meals with a quick conversation with a chef. Character meals are best enjoyed at resorts where staff understand GF protocols.
Resort GF Table Service Restaurants
Table service restaurants are meals that can be a character meal, sit down, or buffet where everyone is attended to by a server.
Kona Cafe
If you are looking to eat gluten-free at Kona Cafe, then you are in the right place! We delighted in our dining experience from the first sip to the last bite. Indeed, we enjoyed eating gluten-free at the Kona Cafe. We were thrilled to get a reasonably easy to get last-minute reservation.

The margarita is both refreshing and gluten-free, but it tastes like it is cheap and made from either a store mix.
Kona’s Gluten-free Menu
Kona Cafe at the Polynesian Village Resort offers flavorful, fresh, and easy-to-customize dining options that feel like a welcome retreat after a long park day.
Tofu or Chicken Pan-Asian Stir Fry with Rice Noodles in a Soy-Yuzu Sauce
I craved a veggie filled dish all day and wound up selecting the chicken version. The snap peas added a refreshing texture and flavor to the dish that was light but filling. Altogether, I really enjoyed it at the end of a long, hot day at the theme parks.
But, it did not reheat well- it was a mushy mess. Don’t bother taking it with you if you can’t finish it in one sitting.

Miso-buttered Strip Loin
My husband enjoyed the thick cut of steak that the chef recommended to be served medium rare. If you opt for a well-done steak, the chef can butterfly for a quicker finish, but it will change the taste. The steak was flavorful, and the mash complemented the meat nicely. The vegetables were a tantalizingly sweet addition to this meal’s flavor profile.

Trattoria Al Forno
Trattoria al Forno Breakfast Menu (Non-Character):
Trattoria al Forno Dinner Menu:
The lobby is gorgeous, but the tiny entrance is crowded with people and the accoustics make it seem even noisier. The restaurant is gorgeous with an Old Word Italian motif and a wood-burning oven. Unfortunately, the entryway was loud and overstimulating.

I chose the Italian Scramble, featuring mozzarella and tomato-basil scrambled eggs and Sunday Gravy with roasted potatoes and choice of bacon or sausage. My breakfast was outstanding with crispy bacon, flavorful eggs, and the Sunday Gravy, a complementary marinara-like dipping sauce. While this dish is no longer available, it’s a testament to the gluten-free dishes at this location.

My husband had the steak & eggs which consisted of oak-grilled steak, cheesy-egg torte, fonduta, roasted potatoes, and crispy onions. The cheesy-egg torte was delicious and I wanted to duplicate it for home. Curious about fonduta? It’s basically like fondue- melted cheese, cream, and milk. However, it was replaced by hollandaise when the restaurant reopened.
They brought out my gluten-free platter that was piping hot, and oddly enough, his food never arrived with mine. It eventually came out about 15 minutes later and was extremely cold. Our waiter agreed to make it. Sometimes being on a special diet can impact the timing of food delivery, so be flexible with your party eating at differnt times.

The food may be too complex and flavorful for some children’s taste.
Currently, the Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast character meal is still unavailable, it never reopened from its closure during the pandemic.

Cape May Cafe
We are so obsessed with Cape May Cafe on Crescent Lake.
Cape May Cafe on Crescent Lake is hands-down our favorite character meal. The tables are nicely spaced, the atmosphere is calm, and the cast members are incredibly patient—perfect for kids who might be overwhelmed. Breakfast includes gluten-free Mickey waffles, fruit, and breakfast meats, so even picky eaters find something they love.

What makes it truly special is how the cast accommodates children with special needs. When we shared that our son has autism and can be wary of large characters, they created a plan so he could enjoy photos and interactions on his terms. He got to choose whether to engage, and by the end, he was dancing with Donald Duck—an unforgettable moment that turned a nervous experience into pure joy.
Quick Service Restaurants
Pineapple Lanai at the Polynesian
The Pineapple Lanai is the home of a ridiculous number of tropical, sweet, and fruity indulgences, perfect for those seeking a reprieve from the booze-soaked blenders or the cult classic Dole Whip.
The Lanai is located behind the Polynesian Village Resort Great Ceremonial House, just before the gorgeous feature Lava pool. It offers covered outdoor seating, perfect for a break during hot Disney days.
Gluten-Free Menu Overview
The Pineapple Lanai offers safe, delicious, and entirely gluten-free options:
- Traditional Dole Whip: Pineapple soft-serve.
- Dole Whip Soft Serve Swirl: Pineapple and vanilla swirled.
- Pineapple Float: Dole Whip soft serve with pineapple juice.
Gluten-free Review
They were absolutely refreshing and delicious as usual! My husband opted for a regular Dole Whip, which is delicious but slightly tart—our baby made a sourpuss face when she tried it! I had the Swirl Dole Whip Float (the pineapple and vanilla swirled ice cream with a splash of pineapple juice). We highly recommend a visit to try this delectable treat.

The Ultimate List of Gluten-Free Snacks at Walt Disney World
Here are our top 5 best gluten-free snacks at Disney World:
5. Gluten-Free Churros
The Nomad Lounge at Disney World’s Animal Kingdom features one of our favorite gluten-free snacks. The gluten-free churros come with vanilla crema and chili-strawberry sauces for dipping. You can also snag these at the Three Bridges Bar and Grill.

For those of us who truly miss this novel childhood treat, these churros are delicious, whether you eat gluten or not! The accompanying sauces paired nicely. The vanilla creama is sweet and creamy, with black flecks of real vanilla bean. The Chili-Strawberry glaze starts sweet finishes with a kick.
Even our son liked the churros. This tiny little reviewer gave the churros two baby thumbs up.
Location Tip: If you want to snag churros without waiting, arrive 10 minutes before the lounge opens (around lunchtime). Our wait has varied depending on the time of day, but the lounge is fairly family-friendly.
4. Snacks with Character
Disney’s certified gluten-free line of treats is known as “Snacks with Character.” If you’re looking for a huge variety of gluten-free snacks that are easy to snag and quick to eat, this line checks all your boxes.
You can find these options in most Disney World gift shops. This line presents allergy options featuring adorable Disney characters and offers a variety of flavorful options for guests who have food allergies or follow a vegan diet. My favorite is the chocolate sunseed bar, which features a sultry mix of chocolate and sunflower butter.
The line includes cookie options (like Lemon Burst and Chocolate Chip), chocolate bars, fruit & seed bars, and healthy chips. Disney created these products in conjunction with major allergy-friendly companies like Enjoy Life Foods and WOW Baking Company.
3. Red Velvet Gluten-free Cupcakes from Sprinkles
Sprinkles bakery is known for their cupcake ATM, and they have a gluten-free red velvet cupcake that is honestly better than anything at Erin McKenna’s bakery. They, too, are in Disney Springs. This gluten-free delicacy is super Instagrammable!
2. A Frosty Dole Whip
Gluten-free diners, rejoice! Dole Whips have a huge fan following among Disney World addicts. Above any other treat, these are a must-do for a steamy, blistering Disney afternoon.

Locations: The Dole Whip is available at Animal Kingdom’s Tamu Tamu Refreshments, Magic Kingdom’s Aloha Isle & Sunshine Tree Terrace, and the Polynesian’s Pineapple Lanai.
1. Gluten-free Beignets
These hot, fresh, decadent pastries are the absolute best gluten-free treat in Walt Disney World resort. If you speak with the chef, they will prepare fresh gluten-free beignets.
Pro Tip: We often request the beignets the night before so that the chef will thaw the dough in advance.
These are found at either Scat Cat’s Club or the counter service restaurant Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter. There is occasionally an optinon of boozy beignets featuring Bailey’s, Kahlua, or RumChata—always confirm with the chef how this pans out for those of us who are gluten-free.
Honorable Mentions: Safe GF Snacks
These are great backups you can reliably find across the resort:
- Zebra Domes: Always ask for the gluten-free version at Animal Kingdom Lodge (The Mara or Boma). The GF version typically has a chocolate base instead of a cake base.
- Night Blossom (or Rum Blossom): This frozen, non-alcoholic specialty drink (or its alcoholic version) at Pongu Pongu in Animal Kingdom’s Pandora is refreshingly gluten-free.
- Macarons at Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie: The Macarons here are often gluten-free (using almond flour), but always confirm with a Cast Member on that day, as ingredients can change.
- Turkey Leg: A popular, naturally smoked meat, the Disney Turkey Leg is widely considered gluten-free.
- Mickey Bar: The classic Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar is generally gluten-free.
- Popcorn: The popcorn sold in the carts throughout the parks is typically gluten-free, so grab a popcorn bucket and get cheap refills all week!
Gluten-Free Beer at Disney World
What’s actually available?
We love family trips to Walt Disney World, but tracking down gluten-free beer has become its own quest. While the internet is overflowing with Disney dining reviews, hardly anyone is talking about what adults with celiac or gluten intolerance can safely drink in the parks.
If you want to sip something cold in the Florida heat, you can—but you need realistic expectations.
Disney has slowly replaced most gluten-free beers with hard cider and hard seltzer, and while that’s fine for people who love fizzy fruit water, it’s a bummer if you were dreaming of a real beer moment.
Still, you’ve got options.
Are There Gluten-Free Beers at Disney World?
Yes… but not as many as there used to be.
Your best actual gluten-free beer option:
- Redbridge (sorghum-based, brewed GF, celiac-safe)

What USED to be available but is not ideal for celiac:
- Omission — gluten-removed, not safe for celiac (skip)
Disney locations vary wildly. A lounge may have Redbridge one week and swap it for hard seltzer the next. So keep expectations loose.
Ciders: The Easiest Gluten-Free Alcohol at Disney
If you enjoy cider, you’ll be very happy.
You can usually find:
- Original Sin Dry Cider (crisp, not sugary)
- Angry Orchard Crisp Apple (sweet but widespread)
- Wyder’s or Ace (spotted less frequently now but still possible)
Cider is naturally gluten-free, making it a reliable standby in all four parks.
Hard Seltzer: The “New Disney Default”
“Ain’t no laws when you’re drinkin’ Claws,” right? White Claw and Truly have practically taken over where GF beer used to be. I don’t love this swap, but Disney clearly does. If you’re okay with seltzer, you’ll never struggle to find one.
What If You Hate Cider AND Seltzer?
You’re not doomed.
See our ways to save money while eating gluten-free at Disney section. Disney won’t let you bring alcohol into the parks, but you can stock it in your resort room for evenings or to carry a drink to the pool.
Ways to Save Money While Eating Gluten-Free at Disney
It is expensive to eat out three meals a day in the Walt Disney World parks. We don’t eat out often, so we’ve come up with tricks to save money.
- Stay off-property or at a Disney Vacation Club villa with a kitchen.
- Pre-order gluten-free groceries through Amazon Prime, Instacart, or local delivery services. Disney’s front desk does charge a fee for holding and delivering packages.
- Take a ride share or rent a car to visit nearby stores like Target, Walmart, or Trader Joe’s.
- Pack your own snacks.
- Order gluten-free items from a local restaurant through DoorDash, Uber Eats, or GrubHub.
- Contact local bakeries for delivery of delicious fresh baked gluten-free goodies.

The Cast Members and chefs truly go out of their way to prepare meals free of common allergens and ensure you are comfortable, healthy, and safe. Do I need to tell Disney about my allergy in advance?
It’s best to note allergies when booking and remind staff when you arrive. Most table-service restaurants will have a chef or manager speak directly with you.
Can I bring my own food into Disney parks?
Yes. Guests may bring allergy-safe snacks and meals into the parks as long as they don’t require heating or refrigeration. This is helpful for uncommon or multiple allergies.
Is there a gluten-free menu at Disney World?
Yes. Many restaurants offer gluten-free menus, including fan favorites like Mickey waffles, pizza, and desserts.
What if my child has multiple food allergies?
Disney can often accommodate multiple allergies simultaneously. Always confirm ingredient lists and consult with the chef to ensure accuracy. Many quick-service spots also offer allergy-friendly menus.
