Before we rode the Skyliner, we couldn’t help but wonder how smoothly getting on the transportation would be. Many families cannot travel to Walt Disney World without a double stroller. Transferring to the Skyliner is challenging if parents need to wake up two children while folding up a stroller.
Can you take a double stroller on Walt Disney World’s Skyliner? We hoped we could roll our stroller on the Skyliner. Staying at a Skyliner Resort, taking the Skyliner to Epcot and Hollywood Studios was our best bet.

Yes, you can bring your strollers onto the Skyliner and all forms of Disney transportation. The Disney Skyliner stroller policy is that some strollers can be rolled directly on Disney’s Skyliner, depending on the stroller size. Basically, you can roll any single stroller directly onto the Skyliner. However, whether you can roll a double stroller directly on the Skyliner is a different story. Read on for more details about strollers on the Skyliner.
Can You Bring Double Strollers on Walt Disney World’s Skyliner?
Yes and no. Close side-by-side double strollers before stepping onto Disney’s gondola. However, strollers with one seat in front of the other, also known as tandem double strollers, can be pushed directly onto the gondola. It is easy to move the stroller on the Skyliner.
How big are Disney’s Skyliner gondola openings?
The size of the gondola door opening is 30 inches wide.
The width of our stroller was 29.75 inches.
By the end of the day, the cast member told us to fold up our stroller again. The company line is now that all side-by-side double strollers must be closed on the platform before boarding.
How many people fit on a Disney Skyliner gondola?
The gondolas provide a level of intimacy that is missing on the buses or monorail. Disney World has strict rules regarding capacity: a maximum of 10 guests on each gondola. However, that number drops to only six people per Skyliner gondola with a mobility aid or stroller. If you can leave your stroller unfolded, pushing it from the platform to the gondola is simple.
Mobility aids like ECVs, walkers, and wheelchairs smoothly transition from the platform to the car because it is on the same level as the gondolas. However, strollers and mobility aids must fit the gondola’s 30 inches by 48 inches space.
Why are Side-by-side Strollers Banned on the Skyliner?
- Crowd Control: Many double strollers are too wide for the gondolas, and there would be significant slowdowns and stops as families found out their stroller did not fit on after little Jimmy boarded.
- Capacity: It would require the gondolas with these larger strollers to only board six instead of ten guests at a time, which would also slow down the boarding flow.
- Disney policy: Regardless of why side-by-side strollers aren’t allowed, that’s the bottom line. Plan accordingly.
What rules do Disney World theme parks have regarding strollers?
The stroller policy in Disney World changed requirements in 2019. Walt Disney World Disney banned strollers with dimensions greater than 31″ (79 cm) in width and 52″ (132 cm) in length. Regardless of size, all stroller wagons are prohibited per the Disney stroller policy.

The Best Side-by-Side Double Stroller for Walt Disney World
Are you okay with folding up your side-by-side stroller for the WDW Skyliner? The following are the best strollers for Disney World, fit through MOST doorways, and are Disney-approved strollers.
Baby Jogger City Mini GT Double Stroller with All-Terrain Tires
As a busy mom of four, I love this double side-by-side stroller. The Baby Jogger City Mini GT double stroller meets all Walt Disney World regulations, is lightweight, and fits through door frames.
However, the drawbacks are:
- there aren’t children’s cupholders without purchasing an attachment.
- the storage underneath the children’s seats is incredibly cramped
However, I have four children, and it is one of the few pieces of baby gear that has weathered the storm. We love it and wouldn’t trade it for just about anything. The going rate is listed here.
Where does the Skyliner go?
The Disney Skyliner has three separate lines with a main Skyliner station at the Caribbean Beach Resort. The Epcot Skyliner drops passengers off from the International Gateway at Epcot, stops at the Riviera Resort, and ends at the Caribbean Beach Resort.
The second line goes from Disney’s Caribbean Beach Skyliner stop to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It drops passengers off close to the front entrance. The third line goes from Caribbean Beach Resort to the Skyler stop at the Pop Century Resort and Art of Animation Suites.
Can you take strollers on Disney buses and boats?
Fold strollers for the buses and even most boats to the Disney parks and Disney Springs. If you’d rather not fold it up, check out the monorail, where you can push on the stroller directly. In other posts, we explored the Polynesian Village Resort, a monorail resort.
Our Disney Skyliner Double Stroller Experience
Soon after opening, the WDW Skyliner stranded guests for hours in the air. After rescuing the guests, Disney World closed the Skyliner for more than a week due to “technical difficulties.” On the reopening day, cast members told us we could push our stroller on without folding.
They told us our stroller was small enough to go directly on board. We have a side-by-side stroller, the Baby Jogger City Mini Double Stroller. However, we now know you need a smaller stroller to roll on without hassle. If you are looking for the best stroller on the Skyliner, stick with the tandem double stroller.
A cast member confided that there should be stands where parents can measure their strollers. These are much like the crates for luggage in airports. Caregivers can ensure strollers meet the width requirements to fit on the gondola. Currently, there are no stands to measure strollers or mobility devices.
The Skyliner’s Bottom Line
Is the Skyliner worth the hassle? Absolutely! Not only does it garner nostalgia from the yesteryear days of Magic Kingdom’s original Skyway, but its current iteration has many perks. The Skyliner ride is smooth, private, and engaging. The twin inward-facing wooden benches create the perfect haven for laughing and chatting after a memorable theme park day.

Hi David,
We got the Joovy Caboose on the Skyliner with sleeping babies. However, occasionally you will get a rogue CM asking you to fold it up. I just bought it off Amazon for a fairly reasonable price and it’s lasted us quite a while!
